Was crossing Qasr al-Nil bridge on my bike when I was surrounded by a group of 6 or 7 motorcycles -- all of them occupied with men riding double. One of them came up next to me from behind and the man sitting on the back of the motorcycle groped my back and butt while the others laughed. The only redeeming aspect of the story is that two of the other laughing motorcycles crashed into each other and all four of the men fell (no serious injuries, but nothing less than they deserved). I think of my bike as a safer-than-average place where I can avoid sexual harassment in Cairo but unfortunately that proved not to be the case last night.
