A Russian female tourist was severely beaten and raped at a five-star hotel in the Egyptian resort of Hurghada on Friday, Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency reported, adding that the incident is already being investigated.
Police said that the rapist apparently entered the woman’s suite posing as the hotel’s employee.
The Russian Consulate in Cairo is keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
