I am an American women who lives in Abu Dhabi and recently travelled to Egypt. Due to my circumstances, the only way for me to visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx was on my own, without friends or a tour group. Never in my entire life have I felt so scared. The groups of men were following me and catcalling at me. Some were yelling disgusting language At me as well. The worst part of my trip to the pyramids was when a group of middle school age boys threw rocks at me after I gracefully and altruistically took pictures with them. I was terrified and the police man I encountered did not speak English. It was so unfortunate and disapointing that my life long dream of seeing The Pyramids of Giza was destroyed by a bunch of men and boys who can not control their behavior.
