at Demashk st., Mohandessin, Giza, Giza (30.052190 31.193530)
I've been working in Syria st., mohandessin for 4 years now and would like to report a street off Syria that is called Demashk.
In Demashk street all my female colleagues and myself have faced and are still facing all sorts of harassment!! They are basically young school boys that wonder the streets just to waste time, which is really sad cause I wonder what will they do to us when they grow up!
Those kids walk in groups (4 of them) and their age varies from 7 up to 13 years and they are all scary!!
We've been touched, thrown with stones, heard a lot of dirty and sexual invites and comments.. Another incident was 2 guys were riding a motorbike and they were acting as if they want to hit me..
This area is close to Sudan st., and Ard el Lewa and has a lot of public schools.. I really wonder what they teach them in those schools!!
At the end of the street is a public school for girls and even those girls harass other girls like me or grown up women, which is even sadder!!
Last incident was last afternoon at 5:30pm, 4 boys were drinking water of a cooler in the street and when I passed in front of me, one of them spitted water on me..
I tried to be brief but I have plenty of humiliating stories and situations only in this area.. I hope this was helpful and that someone will do anything about it..
Thanks a lot..
