It was New Year's Eve and although there were plenty of festivities earlier, it didn't stop some from participating in some low life harassment. I was reading an old man's sign and then these two guys (age around 38) passed behind me and then one of them decided to move his hand across my rear end as he did!
I screamed at him and people around me realized what had happened. The offender looked at me and just walked away quickly. As for the heroic bunch of young men watching... they did absolutely NOTHING!
All they did was mumble "ragel 2aleel el adab", "dah kan mafrood yedereb"! But nothing more. My friends hadnt reached me in time so the offender got away but this incident brought back soooo many memories of how passive people have become when harassment happens.
The ironic thing??? Its usually the women who stand up for other women when it happens.
