This past spring, my children were outside of our building in Al Rehab, playing in the garden where I could see from our window. My oldest daughter told me she was coming up for a drink. A man was in the lobby of the building. On her way back outside, he grabbed her and put his hand up her shirt. We determined it was someone from the gas company by the description of his clothes by my daughter. We had only been living in Egypt for a year, and my daughter does not know Arabic. She said he was saying something to her, but she did not understand. By the time we found out about this, he was gone. Security tried to help us find him, but we never did. Seriously, what sicko puts his hand up a 9 year old girl's shirt?? My husband (Egyptian) thinks that he was probably trying to steal jewellery (which she had none of) from her. The security had said that ours was not the first complaint of this happening.
