The incident happened around 10pm in the near Abdel Moneim Riad side at the entrance of Qasr al Nil St.

- By that time, crowd was starting to get smaller and the street was not packed; there was room to move.

- I saw a human chain crowding in the street, at first some of the participants in the chain said they had caught an MB member and were beating him , others said they were protecting a girl.

- it was difficult to see what was really going on, and whether the chain was protecting or assaulting.

- They were holding wooden sticks and beating off people who were trying to approach and help the girl. One guy was holding an empty wooden chicken cage and swinging it around, trying to hit people.

- The girl was around 30 years old, dressed very modestly and normally with jeans and a normal top. She was wearing eyeglasses and a group of men was holding her by the hands.

- At first she wasn’t speaking, then started shouting at the attackers.

- They dragged her down the street toward the entry way to a building.

- I saw a man climb on top of her or shield her– Others in the human chain were trying to pull him off. It was unclear if he was protecting or assaulting her.
